Oppo A77 appears to be a phone that Oppo didn’t release in 2020 – BollyInside

Oppo has quietly unveiled the Oppo A77, its latest phone, in India. The phone is available for Rs. 15,499 at launch. You won’t find the best chipset on a low-cost phone because it’s an offline focused device. In addition, the Oppo phone will not be in direct competition with products such as Realme or Redmi. Although it is a completely new model in the market, it has the effect of making the phone look old.

But what doesn’t appear to be as of 2020 is the design of the phone. It comes with the latest design language for Oppo devices, with square sides and a camera array similar to other recent Oppo devices. Speaking of the screen, this phone comes with a 6.56 inch HD+ LCD screen, with a refresh rate of 60Hz. No other phone has been launched this year at this price with an HD+ screen in this budget. As for the cameras, the phone comes with a dual camera setup consisting of a 50MP primary camera and a 2MP depth sensor. There is an 8-megapixel front camera.

The phone is available for purchase from the Oppo Store now (opens in a new tab). It will be available soon on Flipkart and Amazon, but its availability on e-commerce platforms has not been officially announced. The phone will soon be available in all offline stores as well. Oppo A77 is powered by Mediatek Helio G35 SoC. This may sound like a joke, but it isn’t. The phone is already powered by the budget two-year-old SoC. It cannot be compared at all with other phones in this segment. Even phones under Rs. 10000 has better chipsets like Mediatek Helio G85, Mediatek Helio G88 and even Snapdragon 680.

The phone is powered by a 5000 mAh battery with 33W fast charging support. The 33W charging is one of the only features in this phone that keeps up with other phones in this budget. Another feature that is better than other phones is the presence of a stereo speaker setup. This looks like the usual phone Oppo used to roll out back in the day. But Oppo currently has much better phones in the segment at similar prices. Like Oppo K10 and Oppo F19. Even Oppo has similar features in a phone at a lower price than the Oppo A16 and Oppo A57.

But the reason this phone looks like a phone from 2020 is because it’s a phone for retail stores, not online. The Oppo A series has always been a series of phones targeting the offline market. Usually phones in this series come with modest specifications for the price. We can’t expect much from the A-series phones anyway. This phone reminds us that not much has changed with Oppo with their A-series smartphones, and their pricing centered around offline.
